Groovy Dogs Grooming Policies
By booking an appointment, you agree to all the policies outlined below.
1. Matting Fees
Dogs with severely matted coats require significant extra attention. Mats cause the coat to grow tight and can pull on or damage the skin, potentially restricting blood flow and creating a breeding ground for parasites unseen to the naked eye. At Groovy Dogs, we prioritize your pet’s comfort and will not cause unnecessary stress by trying to demat them. Severe matting can only be humanely removed by shaving the pet, and this process can lead to potential issues such as nicks, cuts, scrapes, and hematomas. Moisture trapped under matting can also lead to numerous skin problems, and in severe cases, dogs may exhibit behavioral changes after removal. Prevention is the best defense against matting, so regular appointments every four to eight weeks are recommended. By agreeing to these policies, you acknowledge the risks associated with this process. Please note that an additional fee will be applied for severe matting, as it is time-consuming and causes extra wear and tear on our grooming equipment.
2. Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a charge of 50% of the grooming fee.
3. No-Show Policy
If a client does not show up for their appointment without prior notice, 100% of the grooming fee will be charged.
4. Grooming Schedule Adjustments
To maintain your dog’s coat in optimal condition, we recommend adhering to the suggested grooming schedule. If clients do not follow the recommended schedule, pricing may be adjusted to reflect the additional time and effort required.
5. Health and Safety
All dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations. If your dog shows signs of illness or aggression, we reserve the right to adjust the grooming process or reschedule.
6. Flea and Tick Policy
If fleas or ticks are found on your dog, a treatment fee will be applied, and the grooming may be adjusted to ensure safety.
7. Medical Emergencies
In the event of a medical emergency while your pet is under our care, Groovy Dogs is authorized to seek immediate veterinary treatment. All costs and expenses incurred will be the responsibility of the pet owner.
8. Dangerous or Aggressive Pets
Groovy Dogs reserves the right to refuse or stop services at any point if the pet becomes overly stressed or dangerous. Our main focus is the safety and well-being of both your pet and our groomers. If grooming is stopped due to aggressive behavior, the client will still be charged a grooming fee at the groomer’s discretion.
9. Allergic Reactions
While we use pet-safe products, allergic reactions can occasionally occur. If your pet has known allergies, please inform us in advance. In the event of an allergic reaction during grooming, we will promptly address the situation and contact you immediately. The client is responsible for any costs related to veterinary care if needed.
10. Accidents and Safety
While we take every precaution to ensure the safety of your pet, accidents can occasionally happen. Groovy Dogs will take all necessary measures to minimize risk, but in the event of an accident, we will promptly inform you and provide the necessary care. Groovy Dogs is not liable for any pre-existing conditions or any injuries that occur despite our precautions.
11. Photography Release
By agreeing to these policies, you authorize Groovy Dogs to take photographs of your pet for use in client files, as well as on our company website, Facebook page, and other social media platforms. All photos taken are the property of Groovy Dogs.
12. Payment Policy
Payment for services is due at the time of pick-up. We accept both cash and credit or debit cards for your convenience.
13. Late Arrivals
Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule, and a late fee may apply.
